Glenn Phelps, President
Glenn retired from industry as Vice President and Director of a nationwide environmental restoration and emergency response corporation. Prior to that Colonel Phelps retired from the US Army after 28 years of increasing reponsibility in the Corps of Engineers and Army Acquisition Corps in command and management positions. He served in a variety of functions including: planning, programming, budgeting and execution of research, development, test and evaluation activities; and program management technology for the department of defense conventional weapons industrial base.
Nick Arena, Vice President
Nick received his BA degree from Villanova University in 1970. He received an MBA from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke. He served in the US Army, PA National Guard and Army Reserve. He retired from Industry in 2008 after a career in sales, marketing and general management with several multinational industrial manufacturers. He has been with The University of North Carolina at Pembroke School of Business as an instructor in Management, Marketing and International Business. Recently appointed as President/CEO of The Carolina Commerce and Technology Center, Inc. located in Robeson County, NC, Nick continues with UNCP as an Adjunct Professor in the School of Business.
Judith Kelley, Secretary
Judith received her Bachelor of Science and Accounting degree from Northwestern in 1951 and joined Price, Waterhouse & Co. of San Francisco. Subsequently she formed her home-based business of full charge accounting for various small businesses including a magazine, law firm and retirment facility. Judith has also worked for Washington, DC – based organizations Conference of State Bank Supervisors and American Coal Ash Association (Executive Director). She retired from the hustle and bustle after six years with Smithers & Southerly, CPa’s of Fairfax, VA.
Bob Heldman, Treasurer
Bob received his BS in Engineering degree from University of Cincinnati in 1962. He then served four years in the US Navy returning to obtain his MBA in 1969. He retired in 2003 having served as the CFO for University of Illinois Alumni Association for 11 years. Prior to that Bob spent 23 years with Arthur Andersen & Co. and Andersen Consulting. His activities included their Consulting Practice in Chicago and Washington, DC, Consulting Technical Services Organization, Audit Software Development and Consulting Market Development.
