These days we are all urged to “Go for it” with the implication being that getting off the mark and plunging ahead brings success without further ado. We at SCORE would counsel that it’s also a great idea to make sure that you are headed in the right direction. Great Beginnings is designed to make the entrepreneur knowledgeable about the issues of starting a small business so that those first steps allow him (and her) to “move out smartly”. This seminar is essential to the start-up to prepare you in depth for the decisions you will have to make!

We will look at:

  • The core elements of a Business Plan
  • Resources available through the Small Business Administration
  • Business evaluation via several key web links
  • The various legal structure options available for your business
  • Up front actions you must take (dba registration, licenses, EIN, etc)
  • Risk mitigation issues employing insurance

Any person starting a business without knowledge of these issues may be heading for the cliff while admiring the clouds in the sky!
